Myrlu closed her eyes and listened. The birds were singing in their beautiful way... the leaves rustled as they made way for the wind... a stream could be heard as it ran its course through the forest. She opened her eyes to find a clearing. This would be where the herd would settle. The trees did not grow close together as far as she could see around the clearing. A strategic advantage, as predators would find it harder to hide in large numbers. Myrlu had passed by another clearing before, smaller. Perhaps it could be used for meetings between her and the Elites.
As the doe looked around her, she noticed more about the clearing. She could now see the stream. The current was not swift, it would be a good place for the fawns to play and for the herd to drink from.
"I have found the place..." she whispered to herself.

Igne stumbled as quietly as she could through the forest. She had been attempting to shadow Myrlu, but the lack of places to hide had made that rather difficult. It had been much easier for her deeper in where the trees grew closer together, but now she had had to wait in order to give Myrlu some distance so that she could safely get behind another tree.
Myrlu had interested her for some reason. There was something about her being a strong female that awoke desires in her that she tried to suppress. Not that she tried hard to suppress them though, as can be seen by her trailing of Myrlu. All Igne had was a guess, a hunch that Myrlu was strong, but a good hunch nonetheless. Females didn't tend to travel alone unless they were strong.
Now that Myrlu had paused, Igne had taken the time to look at her surroundings, searching for the next spot to hide behind. This clearing didn't have much cover, maybe here would be where she would make her confrontation. If Myrlu was strong, she would have Igne as a follower as long as she was interested, or as it usually ended up being, as long as the other could stand her. If Myrlu was weak though, it was merely a simple matter of walking away. Igne waited and planned her next action.

The wind had gone from peaceful whispers to strong howls in only an hour of him walking about, leaving North wondering which way the wind was blowing anymore. Not that it mattered, since he followed the sun and moon to find his way about the forest, also using landmarks form time to time. He shook his powerful head and antlers, shooing away a fly that was bothering him. His chime bells made rhythmic sounds as he shook and wind danced between them. Once he got rid of the bothersome fly, he walked on, waiting to pick up any sign that this was the place he was looking for.
North continued to trudge on through the forest, until at long last found a hoof print in the dirt, recent too. This was indeed, the place. He stopped in his tracks, sucking in a huge amount of warm summer air which would have made any other deer's throat go bone dry. But not his. He then let out a strong, loud bellow, letting the leader know he was here and wanted to speak with him or her. He noticed a few birds fly away in bunches, chirping in panic at the sudden loud noise. His bellow soon faded into an echo, and he stood silent. He relaxed his powerful body and waited for any sign of the leaders presence to appear.

Timid, slow, and cautious. The doe walked silently through the unknown underbrush, the light from the sun in the clouded sky peered threw the bits of uncovered branches. She glanced up and around at the trees as they begin to sway with the wind, she snorted silently and put her face back down to the ground. The breeze that ran underneath the trees ruffled her purple fur, sending a sensation threw her spine and up her neck, it felt good to have some breeze in all this heat. she raised her head and walked on wards, ripping off the tasty leaves off nearby branches. She chewed on the leaves as she walked, not stopping for to long. Birds from a tree up ahead caught her attention, she watched them sit on the tree's strong limbs, preening each other. She felt a pang of jealousy, the birds had each other while she had no one. She stood -longer than she wanted- watching them intently with her blue eyes, When a bungle erupted from a source close to her position. She jumped in shock, her eyes round and large. The birds flew off into the sky emitting crys of panic, Eldimia watched them soar for a second before her darting eyes went to the area where the bungle came from. She was scared for it sounded like it came from a strong individual and she wasn't sure if it was the owner of this land or not, she didn't want to be trespassing. She raised her head higher and her round ears pointed in the direction of her eyes, but she saw nor heard nothing. She walked backwards looking from left to right but seeing nothing, she thought that she would put her nose to use while taking a long sniff. She could smell dirt, and other things that come with the forest but there was another scent strong on the breeze, the scent of a male.

North flinched as he heard something jump near by and the scent of a female drift through the breeze. He slowly walked to the sound, not making any noise at all. He attempted to hide his face and antlers a little in the bushes and trees, but it was near impossible to because of the size of both, and the streams of golden lace from the sunshine spotted his bright blue fur and cherry colored antlers. He snorted quietly to himself, annoyed at his lack of camoflauge. The gods had definetly not blessed him with the gift of natural colors. Even if he was still in the mountains where is fur would have been good camoflauge, his bright red antlers would still give him away even in that environment.
He stepped through the bushes, no longer attempting to hide, even though he had failed with that from the very beginning. He then saw a purple and white doe standing in front of him, absoloutly tiny compared to himself. He nodded in greeting, trying to be polite but not look like a pushover either. "Hello. You wouldn't happen to be the leader of this herd would you?" North asked, cockng his had to the side slightly.

Mia watched with frightened eyes as the large male walked out from under the trees, she was able to stop her legs from collapsing underneath herself. She could only watch as the large and handsome male approached her, her legs were to weak to carry her away. Her heart beat quickened, threatening to jump out of her chest. She looked down at her body then back to the large male, praying that he could not hear it. She flinched a tad when he nodded his head, his large antlers coming close to her body. Once she saw his intention she relaxed and looked him over, his pelt was interesting to her, never had she saw so much different colors brought together. Then again she had never in all her travels met a deer much like this one that towered before her. Eldimia looked to his face as his voice came forth from his mouth, she listened to his deep voice with awe. Mia almost began to laugh when the male thought that she was the leader, but she didn't let it show. Then it struck her that he was traveling to and looking for a herd, she smiled sheepishly and answered in her gentle voice "Hello to you as well sir" she lifted her head and began to gain confidence "and sorry to say, but no I am not the leader of this herd or any." she said looking away from his form and towards the some trees. She looked back to him and smiled again "So I am guessing that you are not a leader here as well?" she asked sweetly, she didn't want to come off as rude.

Myrlu flinched slightly at the sound of the loud bellow. Another deer, a stag by the sound of the noise. A doe wouldn't be able to make that low and loud of a bellow. She looked around herself quickly, eyes darting to look through the trees. She noticed birds flying away to the right of where she stood. Do I find this stag, or do I wait? she thought. If he had come to lay territory, it would be best to challenge him. Perhaps he was just wandering through, but that seemed unlikely. Myrlu had to play to her strengths as well, as she was unable to fight with her antlers, it would be best to see the stag's intentions first. She would wait here, in the clearing, until the stag showed himself.
She now was a bit thirsty, having wandered quite a ways through the forest to find a good place to start a herd. She looked around her once more, just to make sure the stag was not nearby yet. Seeing nothing hiding behind the trees, she took off towards the river. Her powerful legs carried her swiftly to her destination, her pelt blowing in the wind. How nice it was to just run again. She reached the stream in a few seconds, and bent her head down to drink.

North watched as the petite doe flinched at his nod, which was quite normal when most deer saw him, even stags. He was different from other deer he had met, both from his species and where he came from. It was only natural a stranger would feel threatened by his size and obvious differences. The doe's eyes looked terrified, but again, he did not take offense to it. He watched as her scared eyes scanned his strange pelt and markings. He merely stood quiet though, allowing her to study him and take in what he looked like.
Once she seemed to regain herself slightly, she spoke to him in a small and shy voice. He smiled in his mind with slight amusement at the doe's reaction to him and how she had been affected. He listened to what she said. He grinned at her last comment. "Unless I became more then a wanderer while sleeping an hour ago, I think not." He then heard running a little ways off, and his ears twitched into that direction. He instinctively glanced over to where it was coming from, then moved his eyes back to the doe. "Are you looking to join this herd as well?" North asked, raising an eyebrow.

Eldimia ears flicked towards the sound of movement as well, but she didn't take her eyes off the large stag. She listened out but the sound was fading away, so she let her attention move back to the large male, she smiled at his statement but listened to what he said. She was now completely at ease with this male, he didn't seem to be the type that would do anything to her. She watched as he listened to the sound as well and how he looked out in the direction that it came from, she instinctively looked out as well but could see nothing. When he started to look back towards her she followed and looked at him. She listened when he spoke again and thought it over in her mind 'Of course I want to join a herd' she thought absentmindedly 'perhaps this will be the herd for me' she finished. She dazed off into the forest, looking at the delicate leaves and the light that escaped down to the forest floor, it looked wonderful and welcoming 'hopefully this herd will be the same' she thought looking back towards the stag. "Yes I am looking to join this herd, hopefully I will be allowed to join" she said turning a bit into the direction that she heard hoof beats from earlier, she cocked her head and wondered out loud "Perhaps that was one of them?"

The loud noise sent a jolt up Igne's spine, reminding her of past fights of male dominance. How glorious they had been. How majestic they had appeared, clashing together in a wondrous spectacle. Ah, the memories sent a boost of adrenaline through her. She felt it, she wanted to do something.
Her prey had moved, and with such speed! Igne had never moved that fast before, and so her interest in Myrlu rose greater. Her speed, the great bellow, perhaps this would be a fun herd. Perhaps here she would see a spectacle.
Igne lowered her head and trotted over to Myrlu in a submissive manner, to show that she obviously wasn't the owner of the bellow and that she wasn't a hostile figure. "Hello there," Igne said as she drew closer, "I see that you're not worried over that loud noise. Either you're a confident doe or that came from one of your herd. Which is it exactly?" Igne glanced out of the corners of her eyes to make sure nothing was attempting to sneak up on them.

North nodded, turning his head back toward where the sound had come from. "We should probably go see." He said, beginning to walk in the direction of the sound, then stopped dead in his tracks.
He turned his head back around. "By the way, my name is Star of the Northern Heavens. But I'd rather if you just called me North. Your name if you don't mind me asking?" He knew his tribal name would sound very strange to her, since the northern arctic tribes were very different from the herds around these parts. Different names, different appearances, different markings, different voices, almost everything was different. To him, being in this forest was a very simple life compared to the northern regions. A much easier life style. He wondered if it ever even snowed around here. He would soon find out in two seasons.

Myrlu looked around to see who had spoken. Perhaps this clearing is not as good as I thought, seeing that I was just snuck up upon. There was a doe before her, older than her. And she was not coming in the confident position of one to challenge, bur rather she just looked curious. Myrlu eyed the doe carefully, before speaking.
"Me? I am but a wanderer ready to settle down, to make a herd." Myrlu said. "This clearing is the place I have chosen for my herd to grow and prosper. The Sun Mist herd, that's what it's called." A hint of pride seeped into her words as she spoke the chosen name of her herd. Myrlu did like the name very much.

Now that introductions had been made, Igne lifted her head into her more smug look. "Ah, a herd leader are you? You know it's not all fun and games though, right? You'll have to work for it, and work hard. I'm not the type that can do it though, so maybe it's only hard for me." Hopefully this flattery is working, Igne thought, she should have some pride if she wants to start a herd.
"Well, why is it exactly you want this herd? Power, glory, to help others? I'd love to join you, but I must first know how I should act." Igne circled around Myrlu and start to casually nibble on the grass. "You know, a herd without a purpose is destined for failure, right?"
With a name like Sun Mist I've got to wonder, will we be bright like the sun or veiled by the mist? Either way I hope to see a spectacle.

"You speak words that I are true." Myrlu answered. "I hope to create a herd not to be remembered or glorified, but to be able to give others a place to settle down. I have wandered for most of my life, and there are not many herds that welcome types like me."
I'm not sure what this doe is trying to do, unsettle me or join me... I will wait and see. Myrlu glanced behind her for a fleeting second, and then turned to look at the doe again. She continued, "I am willing to work hard to defend and help those who wish to follow me. Believe me, I've given lots of thought to this. I do not work on overnight ambition."
Myrlu paused to take a drink from the stream again, as she was still thirsty. If the newcomer was going to act casual, perhaps Myrlu would as well.

Eldimia started to walk behind the stag with a nod of her head as she agreed with him, only to stop when he came to the halt. She looked at him with a questioning stare, she listened as he spoke and nodded her head, her small antlers puny next to his magnificent ones. She liked his name even though it was indeed long, longer than any she had heard before. She perked up her head and smiled "Nice to meet you North, and my name is Eldimia, but you can just call me El or Mia" she said looking at him smiling. She looked off into the direction where the sound had come from earlier and walked a tad ahead of North looking fondly out into the trees. She paced a few more gentle steps forward before turning and looking back towards North, "Shall we continue,North?" she asked politely a curious smile creeping on her lips.
